USA - Grand Canyon

I have been thinking for the best descriptive way to portray the magnificance and beauty of Grand Canyon in writing. Guess I not apt at descriptive essay writing after all. You have to see it to know it.

My favorite picture taken for the trip to the canyon is this:

(Taken at East Rim, Desert View Point during the sunset)

For star lovers or gazers, the Grand Canyon provides a clear night sky with little light pollution. I had a pleasant surprise when I looked up at the darkness and saw the Milky Way. I couldn't help it but spent a few more moments, braving the cold and looking at the stars while I warmed my hands with my breath.

Celine Dion Part 2

pic from www.celinedion.com

One of the highlights of my US trip is the show "A New Day... ...".

With no doubt, we have the powerhouse Celine Dion herself. Hearing and seeing her live is already a great experience for me.

The props and their use are just unexpected. Then there's the whole backdrop display generated by computer graphics which further satisfy your vision appeal.

Kudos to the dancers too. With their beautiful and graceful dance movements (I think they are really excellent as compared to other shows I have seen), they create the perfect picture and movie on stage to portray the emotions and feelings of the songs and their passion for the show.

I just feel teleported to another world enjoying the 1.5 hr with all my senses. It's a must see show and I would really love to watch it again.

Some trailers to watch here:

You have to see it before it's gone from Las Vegas! Hope the DVD will be out.

Hot, Hot LV

Las Vegas - Paradise in the desert.

It's a "HOT" place (in one way or another). With the day temperature hitting 38 degC, all the casinos, and night-life and shows.

Hotels here are really beautifully decorated and designed. Moving from 1 to another along the Strip easily took me more than 1 whole day.

For me, the exciting part here in LV is that there are many shows worth catching, like Mamma Mia, Phantom of Opera and many of the arcobatic shows by Cirque de Soleil. Of course. I would highly recommend "Celine Dion - A New Day" staging at Caesars Palace.

Celine Dion Part 1

The very reason I'm writing this post was because I was on the bus to work today when I heard her song (my favorite of all too) - "A New Day Has Come". I find this a wonderful coincidence because 1st, I was thinking about this song these few days as it quite suit my situation now. And secondly, I just watched her concert about 3 weeks back. Superbly, splendidly and beautifully done. I'll save the details for later.

Celine Dion is one of favorite singer. Just listen to that voice!!! So vocally powerful and the best part is she can hit a high note without irritating me or causing a pain to my ears. You know, some sopranos just make your hairs stand.

Her first song I heard, strictly speakly, is "Beauty and the Beast". Strictly speaking because I didn't notice who was the female singer then. But it was this song that allowed Celine to gain new popularity in the English music domain.

Her name only caught my attention many years later when she released "Because You Loved Me" and "Falling into You". That's when I started to do all the back-dating and search for her earlier songs. "Power of Love" is one good example. Another classical ballad.

In a twist of fate and by choice, the 1996 Olypmic song "Power of Dream" became an inspirational song to me.

Many other beautiful songs I enjoyed are "I'm your Angel", "Immortality", "To Love You More", "I drove all night", "If walls could talk", " That's the way it is", "I'm alive"

And......never to forget......my favourite....."A New Day Has Come". Released in 2002, after her child birth, the song sings about her son, love and a new lease in life.

It has 2 editons. A faster one...(I prefer this)

and a slower ballad style
