Sarabande - In Unison

Beautiful as the Melody, Paced out as Choreographed, Synchronized to the Beat... Fast or Slow, it's in Unison

End of Year 2006

I think it is most appropriate to put this song down here at this moment of time.

Dedicated to all friends, lovers, families and even people whom I don't know but happen to visit this blog.

ALL
Five hundred twenty-five thousand
Six hundred minutes,
Five hundred twenty-five thousand
Moments so dear.
Five hundred twenty-five thousand
Six hundred minutes
How do you measure, measure a year?

In daylights, in sunsets, in midnights
In cups of coffee
In inches, in miles, in laughter, in strife.

In five hundred twenty-five thousand
Six hundred minutes
How do you measure
A year in the life?

How about love?
How about love?
How about love? Measure in love

Seasons of love. Seasons of love

JOANNE
Five hundred twenty-five thousand
Six hundred minutes!
Five hundred twenty-five thousand
Journeys to plan.

Five hundred twenty-five thousand
Six hundred minutes
How do you measure the life
Of a woman or a man?

COLLINS
In truths that she learned,
Or in times that he cried.
In bridges he burned,
Or the way that she died.

ALL
It's time now to sing out,
Tho' the story never ends
Let's celebrate
Remember a year in the life of friends
Remember the love!
Remember the love!
Seasons of love!

JOANNE
Oh you got to got to Remember the love! remember the love,
You Measure in love know that love is a gift from up above Seasons of love.
Share love, give love spread love Measure measure you life in love.

May your coming year be filled with LOVE!

Time to Say Goodbye

One of my most enjoyed moment in Las Vegas was to be at the front of Bellagio Hotel watching the fountain dancing to the music every 30 minutes. And there's this particular lovely piece of music which was always featured and I just couldn't put a name to it.

At last, I get to learn the name tonight after listening through a classics CD I bought about 2,3 weeks ago.

*drum roll*

It's "Time to Say Goodbye" by Sarah Brightman & Andrea Bocelli. Also known as Con Te PartirĂ². Wonderful! Splendid! Pleasant coincidence! I asked for the title of the music, it came 4 months later. Who/what do I wish to?

I think I can go and watch all the different videos of this song on youtube.

Hey, it sure is my day. Along the way, I found another surprise. It's the Bellagio Hotel musical fountain video with "Time to say goodbye".

Four Seasons of Loneliness

In comes the winter breeze
That chills the air and drifts the snow
And I imagine kissing you under the mistletoe

When springtime makes it's way here, lilac blooms reminds me of
The scent of your perfume

When summer burns with heat
I always get the hots for you (ooh)
Go skinny dipping in the ocean where we used to do

When autumn sheds the leaves the trees are bare, when you're not here
It doesn't feel the same

Ongoing Traffic

Once, someone told me I've got a ongoing traffic in my head. My thoughts never stop running and I think of too much things. It's true. Sometimes I even think why I can think about so many different things at one time and I think about why I think of that too. :P

Some people say this is smart, doing parallel thinking. I have to agree it does help me to see things from different perspectives which I often do unconsciously. Here's the tricky part, it is unconscious so the ideas are really abstract and I can't put them into words. I just know I have thought about it in my little wired hub. Secondly, I don't make conclusion and conclusion can be vital especially when I have to make decisions. This is getting a little complex here....and this is just a small peek to how the traffic in my brain is flowing every second. Intertwined thoughts like a ball of string messed up by a playful kitten.

In addition, my brain therefore find it a "bit" of a challenge to stay focus as the traffic roads are never one way. They are side roads and turns everywhere to bring me to anywhere. (I need to learn to concentrate for longer period of time)

I want things to be simple. Complexity is too much to handle.

The One Saturday

After so many weeks and days of attending gatherings, meeting friends and working on weekdays, at last I have a saturday to myself. Really need sometime for myself. A pleasant, relax one and luckily it was.

Slept through the morning on a weekend. Watched TV drama, all the back-dated episodes. And to top everything off, Christmas with Corrinne May concert. Beautiful voice, soothing and calm. The vibes are just right. Partly think I unexpectedly got a very good seat at the VIP box. Very good view, near to stage and without having to matter about heads blocking my view. Though a short concert, but it came at a good time, among all the rushing and keeping up with pace.

Plus a short late night shopping after the concert. Rather it's the leisure walk that I wanted and to get away from the bus-stop crowd.

(Deco at Marina Square)

Guess this is a great saturday because this Introvert needs some space and time for himself.

Autumn Amsterdam

Besides the cold wind and rain mentioned previously, the days are just so so short.
The sun rises at about 830am. (look at the clock)

And sets at 430pm. That is about 8 hours of sunlight. In the day, it can be gloomy as well due to the over-hanging, heavy dark clouds. No wonder there are stories about people suffering from depression due to shortage of sunlight.
And this is the Royal Palace at about 5pm. So dark that you can't even see the clock in the picture.

Didn't get to cruise the canal this time. Nor did I visit the "coffeeshop".
Had a few good meals here at New King and Pancake Bakery. Not to forget to mention, potluck at my colleague's place. Great company. Nice. ^_^

(ps: many thanks to Janine for finding out the address of Pancake Bakery. Yes, I'm touched)

Amsterdam - Boom Chicago

OK, you have me here after the show by Boom Chicago.

Today's show is entitled "Me, Myspace and Ipod". There are spoofs about the uses of Internet like online purchasing, YouTube, Wikipedia, ITunes. And about 60 to 70% of the show is impromtu. It's pretty nice for a social event after meeting.

Amsterdam - Cold & Wet

It's the season when there's lots of rain and wind. Wind are icy cold, and when compounded with the effect of the rain pouring overhead, it just make thing worse for me. I'm freezing.....

Been here for a few days and everyday it's raining. Little sunshine.

Glad I was very welcomed over here and gotten really good hospitality. Outside is cold from the weather but it feels warm inside from the warmth of the colleagues here.

Watched a stand up comedy, Boom Chicago, last night. Very funny and creative. Had a laughing time.

Haven't had the chance to walk around yet, but hope I'll. Visit the art museum, famous Red Light District, and maybe the flower market. And nope, I'm not interested in the coffee shops.

Walkabout in KL

This is in fact my 1st time to visit places, walk about and eat all the different (cheap n delicious) food in KL after visiting it for the 3rd time. Thanks to a colleague's relative who is willing to drive us around to have good food and shopping. I love bat kut teh. *drool*

There's a small Gundam model exhibition in Sungei Wang when I dropped by. My lucky day!

Went to the Petronas Twin Towers Sky Bridge. There's a long queue for the tickets usually and by early afternoon, all the tickets are gone for that same day. The tour up is pretty short, but there's nothing much to see actually. Just to get a birdeye view of the surrounding landscape. I can see my hotel from here too.

I'll have the chance to work in the towers if I'm posted here next time.
Think I will be back again next year for my course.

My colleague's cousin drove us up to Genting on one of the nights. It's cold and misty up there. No, I didn't make any extra money. I don't gamble usually, only on special occasions or with friends over mahjong. Chill out a bit at Starbucks after my colleague made a killing at the casino.

The Statue of Liberty on a motorcycle. Think lots of designers like to use the icon as a source of humor. Spoof?

And there's this "Qing Ren Qiao". Too bad, I'm a guy alone without any "Qing Ren" with me to stand on the bridge. The red lightings of the bridge does remind me of the photos I seen on the infamous Red Light District in Amsterdam. .There are many canals there and it is unmistakingly to notice where the red light district is with such explicit "signals" on the bridges over the canals..
